A safe handover should make the animal, seller, documents, transport plan and payment terms clear before the buyer is under pressure.
Handover checklist
- Written seller and buyer details.
- Animal identity, age, breed description and microchip if present.
- Photos/video close to the handover date.
- Named pickup or delivery path with realistic timing.
- Document list and responsibility for missing paperwork.
If a courier is involved, ask who is responsible for welfare, delays, border checks and document gaps.
